TMT was founded by Darryl Dawson in 2012 in the Hillcrest High school gymnasium. A year later the club was moved to Darryl's garage gym in Hamilton East. In 2014 TMT changed from a garage fighting gym and went commercial, moving to our current premises in Collingwood street, Hamilton Central.
Like many commercial gyms, most people join to build confidence, gain self-defence skills, meet friends or increase fitness. But around 10% of those people choose to fight competitively. TMT is known for producing Nak Muay Femur, or technical fighters. Many people have joined TMT as total beginners and gone on to become world class athletes.
TMT caters for people just wanting to get fit and have fun, right up to professional fighters. Classes are divided into 4 main groups;
KIDS
Ages 5 – 8; classes for the little ones that focus on balance, fun through exercise, listening skills, and basic fitness and skill acquisition. Ages 9 – 13 have a greater focus on skill acquisition and physical development.
NUTS & BOLTS
Beginner – intermediate Kickboxing classes that teach you all the fundamentals, skills and combinations needed to move to the TMT Intermediate classes. Great for building fitness, learning self-defence, and toning up. Relaxed and friendly environment.
INTERMEDIATE
Classes to challenge your fitness and develop your combination repertoire. The Monday and Wednesday classes include circuit type fitness/bag work and partner drills. The Tuesday and Thursday classes are technique based pad work.
NAK MUAY
Classes for advanced students and/or competitive fighters. Classes follow a similar structure to the Intermediate classes but also include; Sparring, grapple, knees, elbows, advanced fitness and outdoor training/camps. Training starts with a run or gym cardio prior to the actual class. High level and/or Professional fighters are also expected to train in the mornings.

tmt fitness gym
TMT Gym has a fully equipped weights and cardio gym. Membership options include access to the gym only, or Muaythai classes and gym access combined.
WEIGHTS
Members qualify for free ongoing exercise prescriptions from our fully qualified instructors, and members can use the gym at any time during opening hours.
PERSONAL TRAINING
One on One sessions are available to refine your Muaythai technique, or to push your training intensity to the next level. Sessions can also be gym/weights orientated and focused on weight loss, increasing muscle mass, or injury rehabilitation.
HIIT CIRCUIT
30 minute high intensity circuits designed to get you fit and trim fast.
MUSCULAR CONDITIONING CIRCUIT
30 minute circuit utilising weights and other resistance training methods to help you form a toned, lean physique.
